Welcome to the RRPictureArchives.NET contributor site of Alex Gillman.
Hi, thanks for checking out my stuff,
Back in 2008 I started picking up a point-and-shoot still camera to use for train photography, adding on to a JVC Everio video camera I had at the time been using alone. It was in June on 08' when Amtrak detoured its Coast Starlight trains over the Tehachapi's and through the Central Valley that I began seriously getting into still photography, as I wanted to find a site to log in things like engines and car so I might be able to keep track of what i've seen.
Around the summer of 2009 I upgraded to a newer point and shoot model, and used that on and off for about a year. Finally in the summer of 2010 I purchased my first DSLR camera and have been in love with it ever since. As you can easily tell, the first few pages of photos in many of my albums aren't very worthy of even being posted. Still, some unique equipment and locations were seen in my early stages of railroad photography, hence why I posted them.
